AT THE OPERA WITH GIUSEPPE VERDI

On 24 and 25 September Fidenza Village is offering children and young people the chance to take part in a new and unforgettable creative experience: to star in an opera by Giuseppe Verdi. The Village is a stage and the children will be the real stars of the stories.

During the great party for families that is dedicated to the Maestro of Busseto, children can create and dress up with props from Verdi’s most famous masterpieces. They can choose to become the princess Aida, the jester Rigoletto, the beautiful Gilda, or the heroic Radames, all against a backdrop of colourful images by international artist Ale Giorgini, which has been designed especially for the occasion.
An instant photo will capture the special moment and turn it into a poster illustrating the opera, which will be preserved as a reminder of a day of fun and creativity.

A gift of a pop-up book by the author
Children attending the event will receive an exclusive illustrated album containing Giorgini’s original drawings. They will be able to colour the designs and cut them out to create a real paper theatre on which to act out the stories of Verdi’s characters.

The discovery of Giuseppe Verdi: Giuseppe Fortunino Francesco Verdi, known as Giuseppe Verdi, was born on 10 October 1813 in Roncole di Busseto, in the mists of the Lower Parma region and is considered the greatest Italian composer of all time. He was a gruff and romantic genius, suspicious and reserved, very cantankerous and even a bit of a hypochondriac. He was adored, envied, flattered, hated, mocked and courted by powerful people, chased by gossip, impresarios and admirers, and he was always ahead of the curve and on the pages of newspapers around the world – just as pop stars are today.
